Mongolia Rally Diary – leaving Norway

Four days before. Even though the Mongolia Charity Rally has not yet officially started, we have started our journey! Tuesday 2nd we left Norway, starting out at the office of our main sponsor Bama, passing by our new travel friends at Chillout – and then continued to Larvik to take the boat over to Hirtshals. Due to heavy traffic and road work we arrived late for the boat, but we still managed to give an interview on the harbor for the local radio and the local TV-station. Onboard the boat we enjoyed a wonderful picnic lunch from Gro´s mum – it was a delicious late lunch for three hungry girls! A few efficient hours on the internet to update parts of the blog which has been neglected the last weeks – and we were in Denmark!

The first night we spent in Sæby. Gro has family in Denmark, and it was a great start of our journey to step by them and say hello. After a great evening snack and a good night´s sleep we continued towards Esbjerg and the boat over to England. We had a quick stop in Århus, Denmarks second biggest city. We met Gros brother and got a brief sightseeing in town after an outdoor lunch. An hour of walking around is a great break from sitting in the car – which we will do a lot these coming months.

Up next are a few days in London – with our wonderful friends who travel over all the way from Norway to have a goodbye party with us and wave us farewell. Ten of them coming over – I love my friends!
