Travel Photo – My hometown Aalesund

This week´s travel photo is from my home town Aalesund, the closest town to where I grew up. This coast town in Norway is well known for its export of clipfish (dried and salted cod), and it is also internationally known to people interested in architecture for the distinctive Jugendstil (Art Nouveau). The concistent style of the city center is a result of the city fire in 1914, which destroyed the whole center of the city – and it was re-built by architects inspired by modern design. The photo is taken from Fjellstua, a vantage point and restaurant on the city mountain Aksla with a panorama view of the city.
