Where to eat: Rose of India – Bletchley, England

Rose of India was such a pleasant surprise! Staying in Milton Keynes for one night did not give me a lot of time to explore the place; I actually chose to stay here just to stay closer to the venue for the launch of the Mongolia Charity Rally. But you need to eat, right? I did not expect much from the Indian Rose with its red neon signs – well, how wrong could I be!

From the first moment we entered the restaurant the waiter was fun and attentive. Indian restaurants are always a treasure for vegetarians, and I had a lot to choose from – but chose the vegetarian thali, a mix of several of their vegetarian dishes. The food was fantastic: onion bhaji, vegetable curry, bhindi bhaji, tarka dall, raita, pilau rice and naan bread. If you happen to be in Milton Keynes, or just want to have a train tip of London, this restaurant is well worth the trip – for the food that is, not for the ambience of the place!
