The orange buses of Metro Mass can be seen in large parts of Ghana, and they are all old and have done their time on the dusty roads. They are very popular among locals because they are on the cheaper side, and in the rural areas there are not many options but trotros or the Metro Mass bus. It will not be a comfortable journey to join this bus – but it will definitely be an interesting one, and give you the chance to connect with locals!

Do you prefer local transport, or the more comfortable options when you travel?
I´m an Oslo based web publisher with passion for communication, travel and a green lifestyle. When I travel, I prefer to go slow, sustainable, and “live like a local”. Why slow? It is about challenging the cult of speed, and to enjoy the small things in life and to live in the present.
