Cavelodge is a really great choice if you want to do some hiking in northern Thailand. It is located in the Mea Hong Son province, and the closest stop with a bus is Soppong. From there you can get a motorbike taxi for around 70 baht, or a much more expensive taxi. The cavelodge has a really great staff which is friendly and gives you alle the information you need, whether you choose to go on one of their organized treks, or you want to hike on your own. I chose to take day-trips with people I met at the lodge, which was great but with surprises. The owner´s map which states “impossible to get lost” is not that easy to follow always – but you´ll get there eventually! If The lodge is comfortable, good food – and since it´s isolated it is very easy to get in touch with other people. I really recommend to take a detour if you´re travelling up north! You will find all the info you need on prices and organized activities on their webpage – and you can read about my stay HERE.
